About

Maurizio Bortolotti is a curator and writer based in Milan.
Professor and Member of the scientific committee of the department of visual arts and curatorial studies at NABA in Milan. He was visiting professor at Urbino University (2003-2005). He is a regular contributor to the international magazine of art and architecture Domus, and member of the editorial board of Seconds; the author of Il Critico Come Curatore, Milan 2003, and the editor ( with Stefano Casciani) of the collected writings of Pierre Restany in Pierre Restany. The Critic Who Was an Artist, Milan 2004.
He wrote on many books and catalogs, among the recents: Evento, Bordeaux, 2010; Unidentified Modern Cities, Zurich 2011; Map office, Savannah, 2011.
Curator of Art Experience for Domus Academy 2004-2007.
Recent shows and art projects curated are: "No Vitrines, No artists, No Museums: Just a Lot of People", with Rirkrit Tiravanija, Pierre Huyghe, Philippe Parreno (2004); "Modelmania", with Olafur Eliasson, Kjetil Thorsen, Yona Friedman (2005), Venice; "The Utopian DisplayPlatform" (with Marco Scotini) 2003-2006, Milan; "Yona Friedman: A Project for Mart", 2006, MART, Rovereto. He worked with Peter Lewis as a curator of Dan Graham and Yona Friedman for "Foreign" as part of Generator, organised by Gavin Wade, at Birmingham, UCE, (2006-2007); with Bert Theis and Marco Biraghi, SituazionIsola/a new Urbanism, Milan, 2007; Tomas Saraceno, Museo Aerosolar, Milan 2007; Yona Friedman Graffiti Museum, Festarch Cagliari 2007; Local
